Hi Nick, I got a firewire card from Dick Smith today (part #XH9026) plugged it in and it just works, I had previously enabled dv1394 in the kernel. The only issues I had were in kino's preferences I had to change to location of the dv1394 device from /dev/dv1394/0 to /dev/dv1394-0 And the only other one is camera related it seems my Panasonic NV-GS25 is not AC/C compliant so I can't control my camera from Kino, but that's just a minor issue as I can still capture by using the cameras playback There's more about firewire on linux here: http://www.linux1394.org/index.php More about setting up and using kino here: http://www.yourmachines.org/tutorials/kino.html Kerry
