I know from my zaurus experience that the usual procedure for something
like this is:
download an image file
transfer it to a cf card (or whatever card the device uses)
flash the device by using some magic keys while booting.
pray
reboot into linux
load further software via ipkg (a working but not particularly good
packager)
a good starting point is handhelds.org.
