Hi
I have just installed "sudo apt-get install nfs-kernel-server"
At first blush, wouldn't your (new?) ubuntu box become the..
'client' (my bad) - 6.10 - where the files will be sent _to_ (the new box).
The ready means of transfer are probably quite simple compared to the
method you seem to be employing.
What is the O/S of the old (host, now 'server') box please?
- Not quite clear on your network tasks yet.
HOwever when I use "/ubuntu *(ro,sync,no_root_squash)" and "/home
*(rw,sync,no_root_squash)"
I get the following
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/gvm# /home ******(rw,sync,no_root_squash)
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('
I have just purchased a new (second hand) computer and want to
transfer the files from the old computer to the new.
So you are wanting to send - serve / 'host' - the files _from_ off of
the old 6.06 box?
We're just clarifying the job you're doing, in order to specify the
simplest means.
You seem to be using a difficult/outdated technique.
Cheers
