Oddly enough, there's an OS X version floating around on some torrent sites that will reputedly install onto PC's with Intel and AMD CPUs that support SSE2 or SSE3. You can find more information on such things here:

I have spoken with one person who claimed to have installed it successfully on a laptop.

Reaction to Vista seems negative to mixed at best. I spoke with one person who took a reasonably modern modern machine and a copy of Vista and ended up frustrated. Another person I play games with tried it out but had issues with games so didn't keep it installed. The closest I have come to it is playing with it a little on a computer in a shop. Time will tell but typically with MS it seems to pay to await SP1 before serious consideration.

As for Dell, Ubuntu is probably a very good choice for them, it's gained huge popularity, releases are well supported for a reasonable period of time and so on. Let's hope it turns out better than the last effort.

Cheers

We've talked at work how "right now"
would be a great time for Mac OS X to be downloaded & installed on Intel
machines as well.

Be nice to be able to buy some hardware which Linux preinstalled &
everything working out of the box!
