Check the network settings of the Mac - it's probably using DHCP to allocate all details, in which case do the same with your Linux box. Telecom ADSL routers normally present NATted addresses on their internal ethernet ports, and the linksys is probably doing the same thing - no problem with that. So you'd be hoping that the linksys is handing out DHCP to you. Try getting to a shell and running dhclient, see if that picks anything up. -jim
