Yep, Telstra's metering is broken.

"Currently the TelstraClear usage meter may be reflecting incorrect
data usage from 11:00 this morning. This will be affecting only some
customers. Technicians are currently investigating this issue. We
apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

That is $2.95 * 604 = $1,781.80. I have heard of someone who had used
$58,000.00 worth of data today.
