etc while you tell him about the good old days when GUIs were in their
infancy and how much more you could do on the command line. (Keyboard?
What's that? he'll ask as he hands out the verbal commands to his computer
a la Star Trek)

Very easy to set up and now its humming!!! All three boxes are
transcoding bits of the file, and it'll all be stitched together again
on the laptop when they have finished.
All I need to do is persuade Miles off World of Warcraft for a while and
i could boot his machine into linux and add it in too!
How is it that the youngest member of the family has the best darned
computer anyway?
