Hi Roger, I just set up vmware server myself on archlinux and had to jump through a couple of hoops, there's a post on the arch forum http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=251342 that explains. If you look at the AUR packages on the arch website it explains somewhat.
In fact belay what I wrote above, I just browsed through the patches and I don't reckon they'll help with ubuntu much after all, sorry! Ben On 29/05/07, Roger Searle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Hi, I am trying to complete the installation of vmware server on a kubuntu feisty install. I thought I had installed the required header or source files but to be honest have lost track of exactly which ones I have added. I do have gcc-4.1, linux-kernel-headers for 2.6.20-16 (-386 and -generic), various vmware-server-kernel modules and sources and vmware-tools packages installed (via Adept). I'm still missing something but not sure what. I have looked at the vmware support forums as suggested at the end of the output but am no wiser. Anyone have any pointers?
