Hurro folks...

Trying to make a low bandwidth copy of a DVD to put onto the daughters
PC, but it strips the first 4 minuets or so off the film.

It's at the ripping stage, if I open the VOB file created by the ripping
process using totem or mplayer the first bit is missing. But if I just
let it auto-play (in totem) or play the dvd (in xine or totem) I get the
whole thing, including menus etc.

Running dvdrip from the command prompt and I don't get any console
output while it's ripping, and playing the chapter from the dvd::rip gui
plays it all, it's just when the vob gets stripped it's missing the
first bit. (Consequently, the transcoded divx is truncated as well)

Anyone got any clues or tricks for this? I've ripped a sum total of 3
DVD's now, and they all just worked, so I'm a bit at sea.

Running sarge (must upgrade one day) with libdvdread3 0.9.4-5,
libdvdcss2 1.2.9 and dvd::rip 0.52.6

Cheers, Me.

Trying more up to date versions might help. dvd::rip is up to 0.98 or something like that.
