thanks - the issue remains the length of the plug and it's ability to fit in the recess in the back of the monitor rather than the availability of long enough cable. catalogs show either the same dynamix cable i had earlier or what appears to be something of the same dimensions. i'll get in touch with them though so thanks for the leads.
