The single most important part of this is not the mechanism for
installing files, it's the content of the repository.

In the same way there's no real difference between .rpm and .deb that
can't be solved at the repository end :-)

In their case, they have an interesting list of apps in there, but
there's no real indication of how they'll handle updates. Updates is
the key, otherwise I might as well just download binaries from random
websites ...
