Just an update for anyone interested. I still haven't got this working, but have a couple of areas I'm working on:
I think I need another fqdn on the linksys end. The manual for the linksys says that each fqdn being used for authentication can only be used once. There is an ipcop security list with a section on vpn. Have found instructions there for understanding the ipsec logs that ipcop generates. Kerry.
