Hello, So, I've been in Japan for a month, and I just got internet (50Mbps ADSL) at the apartment. Now I need to make a simple static website so that I can answer all your questions in advance by writing all about it and posting pictures.
I have hosting and a domain, but I want to 'hand-craft' all my pages. I am sure I found a set of scripts written by some guy a while ago that processes a meta-HTML language to make individual HTML files for a static website, but I cannot find it again!!! Useful things it did was cross-links (for navbars) and macros (to insert dates or other details when the pages are built). I don't want a CMS, but I do want some simple tools to help me keep track of all the pages I will make. There are a thousand and one to choose from- maybe somebody is already using something like this they can recommend? Comments please. Thanks, Andrew
