Hi Ram is cheap at the moment, and might it not be simpler to fill in
a couple of slots if available?

I have plenty of old fashined working dim's if some one wants some.
Think from memory about 120 megs of the stuff

Probably easier is to install from a debian or ubuntu cd running without X.

Or install a system onto a hard drive in another computer. I did comment
in the earlier thread that a live cd was unlikely to work because of
restricted RAM, but that an installed system should work. Now that we know
its only 16M that might be a false hope too, but its certainly the thing
to try.
