The machine has a modern DVD/CD reader-writer which is the preferred way to move stuff. The problem is that both CDs and DVDs are rather an unreliable data transfer medium. It's the USB port which is slow. On Tuesday I will be taking my ThinkPad which has a USB-2 port and can offer:- BG-Rescue FreeBSD-6.3-i386 IPCop PCLinuxOS SystemRescueCD Debian Gentoo Knoppix PCBSD Sabayon geexbox-1.1-en.i386.iso direct to a USB drive, or to another Laptop via the fast ( 1000MHz ) LAN connection. It is my current intent to be at the room on Tuesday afternoon to update and load a trio of Distros. > Christopher Sawtell wrote: > > On 2/22/08, Raffael <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > >> Hello clug, > >> I received a 100gig HD with a firewire interface. Indeed, but the DSE USB-2 cards have 5 ports, and are plug-in and go. > >> I also have: > >> OpenDisc 7.10 (www.theopendisc.com) > > We would be very interested in this one. > > > >> Project Gutenberg Best 600 Books (August 2003 Collection) > >> Project Gutenberg Science Fiction Bookshelf (March 2007) > >> Fedora 8 (Live CD, x86) > > ????
