Hey there,

I investigated several hosting options for the Free Culture Club. The goal is to provide other small and new clubs with free web blog and mailing list hosting. I can provide a detailed summary on request. Regarding the following list:

In no particular order, providers staffed (at least in part) by CLUGgers:
Net24 http://www.net24.co.nz
Unleash Technology Solutions http://www.unleash.co.nz
Digiweb http://www.digiweb.co.nz/

I wish NZ companies could get close to the price non-NZ companies charge... our requirements are not that high: mailman mailing lists, php/mysql, a domain/sub-domains and a little bit of disk space/traffic... for something around NZ$100/year.

We would like to run wordpress mu, a wiki and maybe phpbb some day... no big file/photo hosting... any special offers for `a good project'?

Other hosting providers recommended (generally with enthusiasm) by list members:
Axxs Information Technology (Australia) http://axxs.org/ and
http://netaxxs.com.au/
NZ Servers http://www.nzservers.co.nz
bluehost http://bluehost.com
Rimu Hosting http://RimuHosting.com (and I've heard good things about
them elsewhere too)
micfo http://www.micfo.com/ (UK and US-based servers)

otherwise it's going to be bluehost or x10hosting...

For someone looking for a new provider they're probably all worth checking out.

Unfortunately there is not much support from the University's students association or the it department (re. on campus hosting).

Cheers,
 Raffael
