These issues are all eeerily similar to what is experienced when you try to
install anything non-standard on the Asus eeePC. Madwifi, sound & microphone
issues, no web cam, suspend issues, dual monitor issues etc etc. I'm
guessing there are similarities with the hardware.

Have a google around the forum http://forum.eeeuser.com/  It might help.

And I found wicd better for wireless network control than the standard stuff
that comes with Ubuntu.
