just in case anyone hadn't figured this out already, the TVNZ Olympics
live streams can be played directly via their mms:// URIs as follows:

mplayer -nocache mms://live.tvnz.co.nz/tvnz1-live_700k

or for those of you with less bandwidth:

mplayer -nocache mms://live.tvnz.co.nz/tvnz1-live_300k

maybe it's just me, but the ASX links didn't work at all; mplayer
doesn't seem to be able to parse them without win32codecs or similar
(which I don't have installed), whereas the above direct links play fine
via ffmpeg/libavcodec.

anyone with a full-rate ADSL connection, particularly those of us
blessed with ADSL2+, on an ISP that peers, should in theory be able to
use the first link, which is an _excellent_ quality stream.

if you have a rate-limited connection or are with an ISP that does not
peer, you might have to use the second link.
