I'd say that it could be a case for openwrt or one of it's derivatives then. I 
don't think there's anyone offering anything like ADSL2+ perofrmance in the 
area, so there's plenty of affordable hardware to choose from. I think your 
D-Link may even support it. I haven't had any luck with a Gen 2 G604T though 
tbh...
