The belt and braces way is to edit the file /boot/grub/menu.1st Append or edit the line; timeout 20 This should be at the top of the file and NN value is the number of seconds you want the menu to be displayed before grub automatically boots the default. The file menu.1st may be called grub.conf in some distributions. Cheers Ross Drummond
