I haven't been able to make it to meetings for a while due to clashes
with BOT meetings. However the meeting organisation seems to have
reached shambles point.

Can no one step up to the mark? The CLUG seems to be little more than
a joke, mainly due to no one pulling finger and organising anything.

There seems to be a dearth of people stepping up to the mark to talk
about anything. Where are the commercial linux users in ChCh telling
us about how they are helping to change the world? Or are we doomed to
a lifetime of talks on home networking, which has been as easy as
falling off a log for at least the 10 or more years I have had a home
LAN.

There is also a shortage of people with the organisational skills to
organise 10 simple meetings a year.

This is not a dig at Zane. He is one of the few of us who has stepped
up to the mark to organise it, but i also know he has a busy family
and work life. How about someone young without the family commitments?
Or old and without the family commitments?

Perhaps we should flag away the community centre (which always wants a
fee) and simply meet once a month at a local imbibery to drink and
tell war stories? Except that doesn't help our very young school age
members who wouldn't be able to get in the door.
