I don't have access to those notes any more, but my hazy memory suggests a mix of 64 bit OS and the bios was the culprit. And no, I was using softraid, not fake raid. I remember being a bit hacked off about this as it was a year or so ago, and lenny was less stable than now, and this was to be a core development ( database ) server for the next production release.
