As most of you know I too have been a Mepis devotee but recently I bought a new Sony HandyCam with HD capability. My research told me that the best program (for me) which could import and edit AVCHD files was Kdenlive and the latest version had been built for KDE 4. I bit the bullet and installed Kubuntu and upgraded to KDE 4.2 and I must say that so far I am quite happy with it. Rob
