Just recently came across a pretty good linux game, World of Goo. Having a 14y/o and a 4y/o who are both into gaming makes it tricky to have a stand alone linux machine in the house with the lack of decent games out there. A friend put me onto this game and mentioned that it was also availabe for *nix.

The game so I have been told is similar to lemmings (not that I played that) and the online game is totally addictive and keeps you ticking away at the challenges. Anyway they have a playable demo on their site and the full game is available for $20 USD so not free as in beer but for me a worthwhile investment.

I concur - its damn good. I've finished it.

The other one that would be very nice under linux would be Crayon Physics Deluxe, even though the level design isn't planned very well.
