Greetings to CLUGgers, 2009/4/21 Wesley Parish <[email protected]>: > I've just been asked by Christoph what the CLUG is going to do with the St > Albans Hall, since the monthly meetings seem to have fallen through; he asks > we > cancel the bookings if we aren't going to be using the Hall.
I think that that would be the obvious thing to do. The membership has quite conclusively voted with it's feet. Since I am leaving the country shortly, I can no longer be one of the keyholders for the venue. I also feel that I cannot be the nominated holder of our bank account when not resident here. It would thrill me no end if some member(s) were to front up and carry the flag by _effectively_ organising speakers and holding both the key and the account. You will need to volunteer somebody to be a supper preparation and tea making person too. Warning! Finding competent public speakers who know what they are talking about, _and_ tell it for free, is both nerve wracking and considerably more difficult than locating hens' teeth on the Moon! I will be handing the key back to the venue admin in the next few days. -- Sincerely etc. Christopher Sawtell
