Hi,

I'm trying to use the Trinity Rescue Kit 3.3 (http://trinityhome.org
<http://trinityhome.org/> ), which is based on some version of Linux,
running it from a usb hard drive.

I want to use it to scan machines for virus infection without running
that machines operating system, or having to take the hard drive out and
put in another machine to scan.

For TRK's automatic updater (updatetrk) of virus definitions to work it
needs the volume I'm booting TRK from to be called:

TRK_3.3

Under windows I can't put the '.' in the label name. (I know little
about Linux and work mainly with Windows, but I have been lurking on
this list for ages with the intention of using Linux one day...)

So I was hoping someone can please tell me what the command is under
linux to relabel a volume? It is mounted as /sda1.

If '.' is also not allowed in the label under Linux I'll report it as a
bug back to TRK - their updater looks like it was initially written for
running from a CD.

Thanks,

    Bryce Stenberg
