I've found tablet support a bit touchy, as far as I can make out, your best
chances are with a Wacom.

The linuxwacom drivers don't work against upstream( SVN/GIT ) X11 at
present, but they work on
stable/anything-you'll-have-bundled-with-your-dist.

They're a bit poxy, but they work.
