The good news here - as I see it - is that the small players in the application development arena will have the support of the big guys of the likes of Vodafone. I have to say that in the past while working for a company who developed mobile apps on another platform, Vodafone was pretty supportive, providing some of their network services almost free of charge, and most important, they answered all my emails and returned almost all my phone calls (I used to co-ordinate the development process for that company). They also have several international programs whereas if they think your application is good - some tests are involved - they can promote it on various markets themselves. Never had the chance to work on mobile apps on Linux but, knowing their company culture, I think they'll be equally supportive for Linux platforms. It will be interesting to see how they will adapt to the FOSS business model. Disclaimer: I don't work for Vodafone, I don't have any business relation with them, nor do I use their services (by choice). Adrian
