Yes, my standard ubuntu install comes with local printer "PDF", but
this always puts its output silently into ~/PDF, often with the name
_stdin.pdf - only just OK for me to comprehend, and beyond other
users...
I believe that pdftk can edit the meta-data of PDF files, but I'm not certain
about that. It's a command-line program, but there is (are?) a separate
GUI(s) for it, if you don't want to use the command-line. Of course, if you
use pdftk, you could only edit PDF files *after* they are generated.
