Last time I did the "upgrade" I had some problems too. I cannot remember what they were but a clean install fixed them.
This time I went for a clean install and my only problems so far are because I went with 64bit.
pwmanager no longer works and I have not yet found a suitable 64bit replacement.
VMWare Server 64bit is downloading now. Kdenlive seems to work well.
