Thanks for that hint Nick - it is simple scripting stuff like this I
have yet to learn with linux. Hopefully I'll pick it up as I go - next
step for me is to implement Moodle on this box now that I know I can
restore it at any time.

To help my scripting, is there a simple way (one liner maybe) to ask for
the user to input a multi-character value and assign it to a variable?

Also, is there an equivalent of the DOS 'pause' command under bash?
