If it's private, you don't have to worry about security so much (depending on how you enforce the privacy, simplest would be an HTTP auth from the reverse proxy), so you could feel free to install PHP software. Gallery is very good for photo sharing, I think they also handle video these days. Pop a wordpress in front of it, job done. -jim
