I can't say that i'm too surprised that it bombs on RH-7.1, as it does
have the unfamously broken gcc-2.96 compiler which is known to perform
poorly.

As for the error, my best guess is that you're missing libstdc++ ?

Also it almost looks like its trying to find some of the symlinks that
traditionally reside in /usr/include and point to stuff in the
/usr/src/linux tree.
