Indeed, xcdroast is, to say the least counter-intuitive. gcombust is better, 
but still far more complicated than it needs to be. KonCD is simple and 
elegant... If only I could get the friggin' program to WORK! I'll be trying 
gtoaster next, and I'm pretty sure there was another KDE app that's come to 
the fore. Now that I've got a working burner again, I'm on the hunt for a 
good GUI for cdrecord...

Lonnie, what version of gcombust are you using? I just downloaded 0.1.49, and 
it ran like a PIG while burning. Oh, it burned the CD quicly enough (655MB in 
about 6 minutes), but while it was burning, I had NO use of the GUI. You 
experience anything like that? I haven't tried it with xfce (still using 
KDE...), so that might make a difference...
