The system 63.140.120.100 probably does not have a DNS reverse lookup in the proper place. If you do a lookup on the address using nslookup, I would imagine it fails. This could make some software not sent things to the site. This is a useful check on address spoofing in that the reverse lookup is usually maintained by the ISP and cannot easily be set to something false. Unless your ISP is foolish. Or sloppy. Here I get this for that address: [root@seaotter roger]# nslookup Default Server: seaotter.opq.se Address: 0.0.0.0 > 63.140.120.100 Server: seaotter.opq.se Address: 0.0.0.0 *** seaotter.opq.se can't find 63.140.120.100: Non-existent host/domain -- +============================+===============================+ | Roger Oberholtzer | E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | OPQ Systems AB | WWW: http://www.opq.se/ | | Erik Dahlbergsgatan 41-43 | Phone: Int + 46 8 314223 | | 115 32 Stockholm | Mobile: Int + 46 733 621657 | | Sweden | Fax: Int + 46 8 302602 | +============================+===============================+ _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list - http://linux-sxs.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-users Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Archives, and Digests are located at the above URL.
