Rick, I have no hands-on-experience with an IBM 600e, but what I know
is...-the upper limit of the 660e should be about 288meg. See coasr to
coast memories for some GREAT prices on memory.-it's a good choice for
linux.-you may have problems with sound if using an old kernel. OSS maybe,
however,ALSA will work.-see www.linux-laptop.net for specific settings for
your 600e

Basically, if it's priced to your liking... I'd buy it. My
insurance/investment man uses one and it seems to work ok for him with
linux.
