I'm mostly an non-gui-login person using xfce, but I decided to give the gui method a whirl when I put up KDE3. I tried xdm, but I could never get the xsm session manager to actually give me a choice of sessions. No matter what I did (except forcing login to a given session) worked - the session choice screen presented no choices and merely restarted the login screen. Failsafe would bring up a bare window with not even the standard 3 xterms that TWM offers. The other problem I have with kdm, is that I can't successfully run xfce as a session choice. xfce starts, but it's crippled. I haven't tried selecting gnome, since I loathe gnome (except for galeon, which is excellent). -- Collins Richey - Denver Area - WWTLRD?
