I did an upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2 yesterday on a Redhat 7.1 distro, using the binary packages and the script 'install.sh' supplied by xfree.org. My observations: - The install was easy, but afterwards I could only boot into xfce. A minute or so later, kde 2.2.2 appeared ON TOP of xfce. That might have been repaired by examining the startup scripts in /etc/X11 more thoroughly (I never quite understood the RH's XFree startup sequence), but after I had restored my complete old /etc/X11 folder of which I hade made a backup before the XFree install, I could boot into kde like before. - Since then, there is a problem with my (PS) mouse: After an hour or so, I can't resize/move windows with it nor use it for scrolling. I'll try to reconfigure my mouse later.
