I thought I would pass this on to the group.
As of this day, I am not RECOMMENDING Anyone to buy HP/Compaq Computers.
Even thought I have had reasonable SUCCESS of installing Linux on them,
their service NOW sucks.
I am supporting the company next door, which is a windows based network.
The machines shipped with ME on them and we upgraded to 2000. We had a
machine go out and called for service. We were told to shove it because we
had changed the operating system from what was shipped and they WOULD NO
LONGER WARRANTY the machine because of the change.
I wonder what that is going to do to all of dozen or more HP Machines I
have installed over the past year that I have put LINUX on, especially if
they are refusing to support a computer that has a simply SHIPPED/OS upgraded.
