I wouldn't hold your breath. Only one developer is working this. Olivier and the rest of the xfce team are feverishly working on xfce/xfwm4 for GTK+ 2.0. Go figure. Xfce afficionados tend to be died-in-the-wool minimalists, and this isn't quite minimal enough! I'm just starting to experiment with getting the taskbar running by itself without the xfce main panel.
