Just a sentiment. I rejoined the list thinking I could help some
people, only to need help, myself. I was just given a Compusa 56K
External Data/Fax Modem V.92. It is identified (internally) as a TP560
Data/Fax/Voicd 56K Modem. When I put it in initially, it worked like a
charm, but took two minutes to initialize the modem. Later, I got
offline and then back on and it took five minutes. Today, it took over
two hours and I gave up.

Support sounds like MS Flunky's ("We don't support Linux" was their
excuse for not giving me Initialization codes). If anyone knows how to
get this d-d thing up and running right, I would appreciate it. I hate
to waste a freebee.

I'm running Lycoris build 46 on an ancient machine (200MHz MMX). I've
added a few enhancements, but nothing that messes with ppp or the
hardware. I would appreciate any help with this monster.
