I finally got it to install. Stock RH7.3 system upgraded imagemagick & its devel, magick++ & perlmagick package to 5.4.9-1 That fixed the initial problem but opened others, mainly missing files. I needed mpeg2decode and fig2dev, the mpegcodecs package and transfig took care of that. Next,(I thought), an upgrade to libpng was in order as it still errored out out read and write test of png's. So I removed libpng-1.0.12 & delev and upgraded to libpng-2.2.6. uhh...oops...that broke all png's. so back to libpng-1.0.12 and a hunt for the files I need, libpng12.so.0, on the hunt for them and finally found them on some guys suse box. I also grabbed libpng.so.3. Those went in /usr/bin.
