This morning when I came in to work, I flipped on my monitor and found scary file corruption messages, suggesting I enter the root password or hit Ctrl-D to enter maintenance mode.
I am trying to compile a new kernel to upgrade from 2.4.2 to 2.4.20. In running 'make menuconfig' I included the option of compiling reiserfs and other journaling file systems into the new kernel. At the point when I can successfully get the kernel to compile and then to run, how do I as a relative newbie, choose between the various journaling file systems? I am leaning toward running XFS as it sounds most stable and reliable, but I am unsure. Any enlightenment is appreciated.
