I have two systems running cups A: cups 1.10 and Caldera WS 3.1 B: cups 1.18 and Gentoo 1.4rc-1
My printer is on a Lantronix print server and has been working on A as well as from Windows machines. I installed cups on B and used the web interface (http://localhost:631) to setup a printer on it that points to the Lantronix also. The setup was successull and B's webmin shows printer@A <- the lantronix printer as installed on A printer <- The lantronix printer as installed on B When I am on the web interface on machine B I can print test pages to printer@A but when I do a test (from the web interface) to printer I get a page showing "you do not have access to this resource". However, I can run lp -d printer testprint.ps from a terminal window and it prints. I can also drag documents from the file manager to the printer and they print. It appears that the web interface thinks I don't have permission to access printer from machine B. When I started the web interface I put in root as user and it's password. Note that I can delete printers, add printers, configure them but just can't print a test page! Any ideas on what's happening and how to fix it? Thanks. -- Brett I.
