Great! I'm glad to hear that you had good results and enjoyed it.
David's book is on my shelf as well, and you're right: it's great.

Forgive me; I missed which book this is?

Special Edition, Using Linux, Sixth Edition by David Bandel and Robert Napier.

In Harmony's Way and In A Chord,

December 2000? When's the 7th edition coming? ;-)

Don't know, but McMillan and I agreed to disagree, so I won't be the
author. They were looking for others. Publishers have a way of
alienating their writers -- they expect you to hold up your end of the
contract, but they don't hold up theirs. Both Rob and I feel we should
have sued. I will write again, after the bad taste is out of my mouth.
I have Special Edition, using Caldera OpenLinux (guess at the title, it's not right here) which was the biggest help when I was stumbling with Caldera 2.2 or 2.3 or ? In fact my wife shakes her head in disbelief at the amount I have dropped on fat books. Linux Unleashed is a fav, and of course, Running Linux. I must admit to getting my most valuable info from this mailing list, the Caldera mailing list and a couple of others. Right now it's Libranet and here.

Anyway, try mouth wash for that bad taste, or TicTac. ;-)
