$ gcc --version gcc (GCC) 3.2 20020903 (Red Hat Linux 8.0 3.2-7) Phoebe (RH 8.1 beta) uses 3.2.1, I hesitate installing RPMs from that onto what has become a fairly stable box (since my CPU swap), but I've been considering a kernel/glibc upgrade to solve a problem I'm having with name resolution via /etc/hosts (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=77538) Maybe I'll do gcc while I'm at it...
