Well I had other problems, so I pulled the plug and did a reinstall, in doing so I deleted the /opt / and /usr partitions. I am in the throws of reinstalling all the programs, hoping that all goes well this time around. I did not think to do an rpm --rebuild, mind goes blank too often these days nor did I try ti install with --force, maybe I should have.
