Seems this doesn't work anymore with IE 5 or 6. I've tried both the favicon.ico in DOCROOT and the <link bla, bla> way with IE 5 & Win95 and IE 6 & Win98 using the specified 16x16 icon. I get no little image, just the "e".
Guess M$ only likes to have their logo on IE address bars. :-( On Mon, 2003-02-10 at 20:18, ronnie gauthier wrote: > The icon can be named anything, the "favicon" comes from IE where if it is > named that is shows in the favorites when the site is bookmarked. > > On Mon, 10 Feb 2003 22:47:18 -0500 - Tim Wunder <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote the > following > Re: Re: favicon.ico > > >On Monday 10 February 2003 9:00 pm, someone claiming to be Kurt Wall wrote: > >> Feigning erudition, Douglas J Hunley wrote: > ><snip> > >> % > >> % there isn't any (regardless of what was posted here). just put the damn > >> thing % in DOCROOT and the browsers fetch it automagically > >> > >> It ain't happenin', dude.
