Okay, well, you don't really have libuuid installed, then, becuase you need the headers for it. The Qt stuff is worthless in this respect, and something that lives only in your kernel sources shouldn't be used either. If you like, I have a statically-linked parted binary tarball located on ftp.kurtwerks.com:/pub/parted-bin-1.6.5.tar.gz that you're welcome to use.
