Folks I am getting the following after compiling kde3.1.2 installing it under $HOME/kde3.1.2 and then rpm -e kde* from the old original default mdk9.1 installation

I have just recompiled the whole shebang but before I did I downloaded and installed from source
libxml2, libxslt, autoconf2.5, docbook-* (for db2html)
This appears to have fixed the problem
